Director of Photography

 Why is the director of photography role so important in a film?  What are some of their responsibilities on a film?

    The director of photography are very important to a film because they are responsible for the filming part of making the film. They are the head of the camera department and work closely with the director to film the film. Some responsibilities they have are establishing composition and approving and flagging usable and in-usable footage. They work with the camera operator and tell them what to do.
