Recording Great Audio

 What are the benefits of using a microphone on a boom vs a lav vs on the camera? What are the differences between single and dual-system recording?

    The benefits of using a microphone on a boom would be to record conversations without a lav. The benefits of a lav would be to record an individual person clearly, and the benefits of recording on camera would be run - and - gun easy access. The difference between single and dual-system recording is single is plugged into the camera and dual is plugged into a mixer.
