The Different Microphone Types

What are the different types of microphones mentioned in the video?  How are each of them different from each other?  What are the best uses for each?

There are dynamic, ribbon, and condenser microphones that were mentioned in this video. What makes them different from each other is that dynamic mics are very robust and durable, fairly inexpensive, but have a limited frequency response. Ribbon mics are very fragile, have a higher frequency response than dynamic mics and have a low output. Condenser mics have an extended lower and higher frequency response, pretty expensive, but are affected by temperature and humidity and requires powers. Dynamic mics would be good for voice-overs and broadcast, sound reinforcement, snare miking, and guitar miking. Ribbon mics would be good for miking cymbals, bass, pianos, electric and acoustic guitars, and brass instruments. Condenser mics would be good for vocals, miking cymbals, drum overheads, piano, acoustic guitar, and string sections.
