Natural Transitions

What is a natural transition? What are the three different techniques that this video mentions? What would each of them add to a scene?

A natural transition is when they use natural elements in the shot to make a transition. You can use shadows, sunrise/sunset, people, pavement, grass. You can use objects with the same shape. You could also use camera movements.  They could add context to moving from location to another, a passage of time, or switch perspectives.
